Stephen Simpson serves as associate editor for the Cambridge, UK, offices of Science, weekly journal of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He is an expert in the fields of general immunology, development of the immune system, infection, autoimmunity and HIV/AIDS, as well as some biomedicine and signaling. Before coming to AAAS, he was a senior research scientist at the Edward Jenner Institute for Vaccine Research, UK. Simpson received his B.S. in zoology at the University Nottingham, UK, his Ph.D. in immunology at the National Institute for Medical Research, London, UK, and did postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass.
