Successful candidate will work closely with the staff editor, the Editorial Advisory Board and the Board of Reviewing Editors to ensure that the strategic vision for the publication is met. The Associate Editor will manage the peer review process for original research papers submitted to the journal, coordinating publication activities with other editorial and publishing staff to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will also solicit material for the commentary section of the journal from experts in translational medicine, and regulatory, policy and funding arenas.

Qualifications: Position requires mastery of a professional field typically acquired through completion of a Doctoral or Medical degree (biomedical field); 3-5 years experience including post doctoral research experience in a disease oriented basic or clinical laboratory; breadth of knowledge of cutting-edge research in the biomedical field; including multiple scholarly journals is highly desired; experience with translational and clinical research or drug development is required; broad training and experience is highly desirable; comprehensive knowledge of scientific research methods in order to discuss technical issues with authors; exceptional communication and listening skills; ability to discuss complex scientific issues with top scientists; ability to translate complex issues into interesting and easily understood wording.
