Successful candidate will assist with the daily maintenance and production cycle of Science related web sites. Specific tasks may include development, maintenance, and support of specific web pages; ensuring quality of article source files for online posting, XML-to-Web workflows, and managing workflow between editorial group and E-Media department; assisting the E-media manager with web site management and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: Position requires a formal training program of one to two years beyond high school; or an Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred); one to two years of related experience; computer skills (Microsoft Office); solid understanding of HTML/CSS techniques, and other Web techniques; a basic understanding of the capabilities and function of XML; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines with a high level of detail and accuracy; experience with proofreading and editing notations and internet related software is required. This is an online position, not a position with the print Science, and is intended for candidates looking to develop their careers in an editorial/technical direction within a specifically online context.
