US PI - Alexander Tropsha, Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry, UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, UNC-Chapel Hill, NC

The conference has been structured as a state of the art research based symposium discussing cutting-edge molecular modeling and research informatics technologies and their application to the science of drug discovery, development, and effectiveness of use. The scientific program will include lectures and posters, which will be presented by the Indian and US experts drawn from the industry, academia and national research laboratories. In addition, educational workshops covering major important methodologies and software tools will be given as well.

About 8 US and 16 Indian distinguished scientists in the field of drug design and discovery will be invited to deliver lectures on the topics of the Symposium. Aside from the question of methodological and conceptual exchange, particular emphasis will be given to the training and involvement of younger scientists and the systematic development of an exchange-based cooperative network. To this end, the symposium will feature training sessions on topics of general interest. These training sessions will be given in a format requiring the active participation of the audience.
