Think Science in Vancouver: Pre-Conference Tours

Wednesday, 15 February

Registered AAAS conference delegates have the opportunity to see some of the most prominent centers of innovation, technology, and research in and around Vancouver. Topics include particle and nuclear physics, clean energy, breakthroughs in medical technologies, and innovative solutions to urban social concerns. Advance registration is required. IMPORTANT: If you have registered in advance but did not receive a badge in the mail, bring your photo ID to any of the AAAS registration desks to obtain a new badge. For registrations completed after 26 January 2012, badges must be picked up on site. You will be required to show a photo ID to pick up your badge when you arrive at the meeting. There are no exceptions to this policy.

On-Site Registration Rates

On-site registration is located at the Vancouver Convention Centre, outside of Exhibit Hall B1.

Friday, 17 February 7:30 a.m.—5:30 p.m.  
Saturday, 18 February 7:30 a.m.—5:30 p.m.

Monday, 20 February 8:00 a.m.—11:00 a.m.  
  1. Passport: Unlimited access to all symposia, seminars, topical lectures, plenary events, workshops, and the International Exhibition.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be received in writing by 26 January 2012. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after this date. Refunds are subject to a $50 processing fee and will be issued no less than 3 weeks after the meeting.

AAAS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the meeting due to unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified.

Q. I can't come, but a colleague wants to take my place. What should he/she do?

A. If your colleague brings a letter or e-mail from you, we can swap registrations. A $25 processing fee will apply.

Q. Will my name badge be mailed to me before the meeting?

A. Yes, badges will be mailed in January. Please bring the materials you receive to the meeting in order to pick up your badgeholder and tote bag. If you do not receive your badge in the mail, stop by meeting registration for a new one.

Q. I registered but I didn't receive my badge. What do I do?

A. Go to the any AAAS registration desk at the Vancouver Convention Centre to obtain a new badge. Be sure to bring your photo ID.

Q. Is it ever too late to register?

A. No! Even during the meeting you can still register on-line at www.aaas.org/meetings and pick up your badge on-site.

Q. What is the weather like in February?

A. Generally, Vancouver winters are relatively mild compared with the rest of Canada. In February, the average high temperature is 45°F/7°C and the average low temperature is 34°F/1°C. Most "rainy" winter days are little more than a light drizzling mist.
