Transportation

Arriving in Boston

The convention center and nearby hotels are located downtown. Boston is serviced by Logan International Airport.

By Plane (Boston Logan International Airport)

The Hynes Convention Center is approximately 6 miles (approximately 20 minutes by car) from the airport. A single, one-way taxi ride costs approximately $25-30.

Public transportation is offered by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (the "T") and features both subway and bus services. For more information, visit www.mbta.com.

By Train (Amtrak or Commuter Rail)

Exit using the Back Bay Station and walk through the Copley Place Mall to the Prudential Center and follow the signs to the Hynes Convention Center.

Parking

Parking at the conference is limited. AAAS attendees are encouraged to take advantage of public transportation or taxis while at the conference. If you choose to drive and park, there are parking facilities within a three-block walk to the Hynes Convention Center.

Public Transportation

Locals refer to Boston's public transportation system (subway, bus, commuter rail, and boat service) as the "T." To ride, attendees need to purchase a CharlieCard or CharlieTicket. These can be purchased at every subway station at vending machines, at select convenience stores and online. For more information, please visit www.mbta.com.
