Present your research at the 2014 AAAS Annual Meeting.

AAAS Poster Sessions provide individuals the opportunity to present their research and offer an excellent venue for extended informal discussion with meeting attendees. There are two open AAAS poster sessions at the Annual Meeting: the Student Poster Competition and the General Poster Session.

Student Poster Competition

Abstract submission is now open

The Student Poster Competition is open to students actively working towards an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degree. The student poster competition will take place on 15 February 2014 from 1:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m.

Winners in each category receive a cash award and certificate, a one-year AAAS membership that includes a subscription to the journal Science, and their names are published in Science.

Eligibility: The competition is open only to full-time students for work recently performed while enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degree program. Doctorates, post-doctoral scholars, and professionals are not eligible and are invited to participate in the General Poster Session.

Students are not eligible if they won a competition that included, as an award, presenting at the AAAS Annual Meeting. They are eligible to present in the General Poster Session, which will be held on 16 February 2014.

Read the design guidelines.

Student Session Aides

Student Poster Competition participants may also sign up to be student session aides. Student session aides that volunteer for 8 hours receive free Annual Meeting registration; those that volunteer for 16 hours also receive a free one-year subscription to the journal Science. Session aide registration opens in early October.

Judges for the Student Poster Competition

Poster judges are qualified scientists, engineers, and other professionals in scientific subjects. They receive deeply discounted Annual Meeting registration, meet and network with colleagues from across the country and around the world, and they provide mentorship and guidance to the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Application to judge the Student Poster Competition opens in early November.

General Poster Session

Abstract submission is now open

The General Poster Session is open to the broad community of scientists attending the Annual Meeting. This includes doctorates, post-docs, professionals, and invited submitters. The session will be held on 16 February 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Eligibility: Open to doctorates, postdocs, and professionals.

Read the design guidelines.
