have recognized excellence in research, education
and public service on behalf of science and technology
since 1823. AAAAS President Shirley Ann Jackson and
CEO Alan I. Leshner will present the Newcomb Cleveland
Award, given to the author(s) of the past year’s outstanding
article or report published in Science, and awards
that recognize lifelong achievements in the areas
of mentorship, international cooperation, scientific
freedom, and the popularization of science and technology.
In addition, The Young Scientist Award — sponsored
by GE Healthcare — will be conveyed to recipients
from around the world for outstanding doctoral thesis
work in molecular biology.
