AAAS to Sponsor Conference on Legal Issues in Allegations of Research Misconduct
In keeping with its mission to inform scientists, policymakers, and the public of the latest developments in science and science policy, AAAS will host a major conference on "Legal Issues and Strategies for Responding to Allegations of Research Misconduct," in Washington DC at the end of May.
The conference, which will be open to the public, will bring together federal and institutional officials and private attorneys to comment on the changes in regulatory policy and on recent litigation regarding research misconduct. Topics to be covered include investigation of research misconduct, litigation issues and the appeals process, and how legal issues affect the way governments and institutions respond to allegations of research misconduct.
The conference will take place on 30-31 May, 2001 at the Sheraton Four Points in Washington, DC. For further information, contact rgray@aaas.org, or call (202) 326-7016.
