Former AAAS Fellow Named to Head EPA Science Office

J. Paul Gilman, formerly director of policy planning for Celera Genomics, in Rockville, MD, has been named head of the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Research and Development (ORD). He was a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow from 1978-1979 in the office of Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM). Gilman, 49, follows former fellow Norine Noonan (1982-1983) into the job at the EPA. Noonan is now executive director of the National Space, Science and Technology Center in Huntsville, AL.
