Newly Updated State R&D
Profiles Now Available
|
The AAAS R&D Budget and Policy Program has launched a series of state profilescovering the 50 states, DC, and Puerto Ricoon the impact of federal R&D on states. All have been newly updated to reflect the most current data available, and cover data on funding agencies, performers, colleges and universities, industry R&D, and historical trends.
Kei Koizumi, director of AAAS's R&D Budget and Policy Program, believes the profiles can help scientists and engineers communicate with policymakers about the local economic consequences of federal investments in R&D.
"The state R&D profiles bring the tremendous impact of federal R&D investments down to the state and local level," says Koizumi. "Readers can look up their own state and find out how much R&D funding the state receives, which laboratories and universities in their local area perform R&D, which federal agencies are most important for R&D in their area, and how their state compares with other states in competing for federal funds."
