AAAS President Co-edits First Major
Home Reference on Brain Health

The Dana Guide to Brain Health

AAAS president Floyd E. Bloom, together with M. Flint Beal and David J. Kupfer, has co-edited the newly published book, The Dana Guide to Brain Health. It is the first major home medical reference on the brain, and includes the newest understanding of how the brain works.

More than 100 physicians and scientists contributed to The Dana Guide, which contains the most up-to-date information on the brain's development and health, as well as the latest treatments for such brain-related disorders as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, depression and pain. Patients, families, caregivers, and general readers will find this to be a definitive source of information and advice.

"This book has no similar antecedents in terms of presenting information about the science of understanding the human brain, the development and maturation of the brain and its functions, nor in the comprehensive lay-level descriptions of the various diseases and conditions that can affect the human brain," states Bloom, "all prepared by experts in their clinical fields, and designed to help parents, children and partners of patients understand the course of the problem and the possible treatments."
