Science's Next Wave also had a high profile at the EuroScience Open Forum. The panel "Careers Workshop: The Role of Mentoring and Networking for the Development of a Scientific Career," was coordinated by Seema Sharma, European program director for Next Wave. The panel brought together experts from a wide range of fields to discuss the roles of professional societies, mentoring and networking in scientific career progression. Panel members drew upon their experience of existing networks and mentoring schemes to give the audience practical advice.
