Science's Next Wave also was featured at the BA Festival of Science 2004 at the University of Exeter. [The BA was formerly known as the British Association for the Advancement of Science.] The festival is one of the UK's biggest science events, and the session from 4 - 11 September this year attracted 400 of the best scientists and science communicators from home and abroad and substantial national media coverage. The event was well attended, with all tickets sold out in advance. Science's Next Wave facilitated a thought-provoking discussion on alternative science careers, with experts from a wide range of disciplines outlining their jobs and why their role is important in the responsible use of science.
