Deadlines Approaching for AAAS Prizes and Awards

Every year, AAAS awards some of the most competitive, prestigious honors in world science—not only for research, but also for science-related education, diplomacy, journalism, and books and publications.

The deadline for those awards and prizes is quickly approaching. The honors will be issued in a ceremony during the upcoming AAAS Annual Meeting, to be held in Boston from 14-18 February 2008.

Here are the prizes and the application deadlines for each:

• AAAS Science Journalism Awards (1 August)

• AAAS Award for Public Understanding of Science & Technology (15 August)

• Philip Hauge Abelson Prize (1 September)

• AAAS Award for International Scientific Cooperation (1 September)

• AAAS Scientific Freedom and Responsibility Award (1 September)

• AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Science Books (1 September)
