Science Update: Choking on Math Tests

We've all seen talented people choke under pressure, whether it's in the Olympics, a TV game show, or the American Idol finals. It happens in math tests, too. Today at the AAAS Annual Meeting, a scientist presented research that helps us understand why.

Listen to host Bob Hirshon's Science Update report.

Quirky, entertaining and informative, Science Update is a daily, 60-second radio feature covering the latest discoveries in science, technology and medicine. It's broadcast by radio stations throughout the United States, and no matter where you are, it's always available online. Science Update even answers listeners' science questions, phoned in to a toll-free answer line, 1-800-WHY-ISIT (949-4748), or submitted electronically.
