AAAS President Holdren on KQED-FM's "Forum"

A day before the 2007 Annual Meeting opens in San Francisco, AAAS President John Holdren was a guest on the popular KQED radio program "Forum," hosted by Michael Krasny.

The discussion ranged across high-profile issues and other topics of interest--climate change, nuclear proliferation, the diverse cross-disciplinary program of this year's Annual Meeting, and the social responsibilities of scientists. (Krasny, a Bay Area broadcast institution, expressed surprise at the commitment to social responsibility that's evident in the meeting program).

The interview was broadcast across much of Northern and Central California, and on Sirius satellite radio network. You can hear it in KQED's archive.

Holdren's visit to "Forum" was part of a whirlwind day of briefings and interviews. A visit with the editorial board of the San Francisco Chronicle resulted in a front-page story, and an interview at KPIX-TV resulted in a story with that local CBS-TV affiliate. [Both pieces were focused on climate change.] Holdren also did an interview with a reporter from German Public Radio, among others.
