Science Update: Do Pollutants Cause Weight Gain?

Forty-five years after Rachel Carson published Silent Spring, we still don't know how a lot of the chemicals we put in our environment affect our bodies. Friday at the AAAS Annual Meeting, researchers warned that some pollutants may contribute to obesity. Listen to Science Update host Bob Hirshon report on what one scientist said.

Quirky, entertaining and informative, Science Update is a 60-second daily, feature covering the latest discoveries in science, technology and medicine. Produced by AAAS, Science Update has reported on thousands of scientific and medical breakthroughs--and won dozens of national awards--since its inception in 1988.
