Ariel Grostern, Ph.D.

Senior Program Associate

Ariel earned his PhD in 2009 from the University of Toronto, where he studied anaerobic bacteria that biodegrade groundwater pollutants as part of a program in Cell and System Biology. After serving as a post-doctoral researcher in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley, Ariel joined the Research Competitiveness Program in August, 2013. Here, he manages peer-review processes for grant competitions for both domestic and international institutions. Additionally, he prepares analytical reports for state science and technology offices.
