Chris McPhaul is the project director for the Finance & Security function team for the AAAS S&T Policy Fellowships. He serves as the AAAS facility security officer, directing and implementing security-related activities including processing clearances, providing training, conducting reviews, and ensuring compliance. In addition, Chris manages contracts, helps prepare and review funding requests, and backstops accounts payable.
He has worked on the AAAS Fellowships team for more than 20 years in a wide variety of roles, including managing programs, professional development, and budgets. Chris holds a bachelor's degree in geography and political science from Auburn University, and a master's degree in education from George Mason University.
Chris is an active athlete, coaching youth swimming and participating in ultra-trail runs and triathalons. He also is a meteorological enthusiast.
