Public Science Days - February 2013
Participate in Public Science Day events during the Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Events are free and this year will be held at Harvard University’s Museum of Natural History on February 13th and 14th. Details of the events are provided below. Please note that these events require pre-registration, and have limited availability.
Schedule of Public Science Day Events
Wednesday, February 13
The AAAS Education and Human Resources Directorate, with support from the Verizon Foundation, is hosting a free screening of clips from the winning entries of the Jackson Hole Science Media Awards. Scientists and producers will screen clips, discuss the films and answer questions from the audience. The film screenings will be followed by a reception in the Museum gallery.

Thursday, February 14
In collaboration with the Harvard Museum of Natural History and Harvard’s Life Sciences Outreach program, the STEM Careers Fair will introduce middle school students to graduate student scientists, broadening middle schoolers’ perspectives of who is a scientist and how they got there. Middle schoolers are introduced to the research of two different grad students and gain a sense of science as a process of learning about the world.

In collaboration with the Harvard Museum of Natural History and Harvard’s Life Sciences Outreach program, the Science Activity Fair will engage K-5 students from area after school programs and schools in fun science activities, led by college science students.
