in cooperation with the Committee on Institutional
Cooperation (CIC; a constortium of twelve research universities) released
a report on The Future of Research & Development
in the Midwest: Trends and Indicators (pre-publication PDF copy) on June
27 at a conference on "Developing a Regional View of the Midwest Economy"
in Minneapolis. The report, relying on National Science Foundation (NSF) data,
presents and analyzes the impact of federal R&D funding on seven Midwestern
states (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin).
