Court Appointed Scientific Experts Project: A Demonstration Project of the AAAS

David Eaton, Ph.D.
Education Subcommittee
David Eaton, a toxicologist, is a professor of environmental and occupational health sciences and Associate Dean for Research, in the School of Public Health at the University of Washington. He is a past President of the Society of Toxicology and currently chairs the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council Committee on Emerging Issues and Data on Environmental Contaminents (sometimes called the 'toxicogenomics' committee). His general area of research focuses on how environmental and genetic factors interact in the development of cancer. Eaton is the Director of teh Center for Ecogenetics and Environmental Health, an interdisciplinary center that fosters integration of genomics, toxicology and epidemiology to study 'gene-environment interactions' for diseases of public health importance.
