Honorable William Schwarzer
Education Subcommittee
Judge William Schwarzer is a Senior Judge for the Northern District of California. He has served as senior counsel to the President's Commission of CIA Activities with the United States (Rockefeller Commission) in 1975, and as Director of the Federal Judicial Center, 1990-95. He is also a Distinguished Professor of Law, University of California Hastings College of the Law.  Judge Schwarzer is the author or co-author of several books, including Civil Discovery (1988) and Managing Antitrust and Other Complex Litigation (1982). He also wrote "Management of Expert Evidence" (in Reference Manual on Scientific Evidence, Federal Judicial Center). His professional associations include Judicial Fellow, American College of Trial Lawyers; American Law Institute; and American Bar Foundation. He got his legal degree at Harvard University.
