Noel S. Weiss, M.D., Ph.D.

Noel S. Weiss has been a faculty member at the University of Washington and at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center since 1973. At the Center, he has investigated the epidemiology of gynecologic and other forms of cancer, and from 1985-1999 was the recipient of an Outstanding Investigator Award from the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Weiss has also worked extensively in areas of clinical epidemiology and epidemiologic methods. He has authored or co-authored more than 350 publications, including the book, Clinical Epidemiology: The Study of the Outcome of Illness (Second Edition).

Dr. Weiss served as the Graduate Program Advisor in the Department of Epidemiology of the University of Washington and later as Department Chair from 1984-1993. He has been the Principal investigator of a University-based training grant in Cancer Epidemiology and Biostatistics since 1980 and the Epidemiologic Research Track Director for the AIDS International Training and Research Program for the past ten years.
