2001
This multidisciplinary research seminar is explored the question, how does the study of contemporary non-human primates inform an understanding of the biological foundation of and evolution of human nature. Participants included researchers in such fields as primatology, anthropology, paleoanthropology, psychology, genetics and theology.
Topics considered include methodological issues for multi- and cross-disciplinary research, sociality among human and non-human primates, altruistic behavior and the evolution of consciousness.
One set of products from these seminar will be a series of scholarly volumes. The first of these on the topic of sociality is being published by Walter de Gruyter, Inc.
