The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to advancing science around the world by serving as an educator, leader, spokesperson and professional association. In addition to organizing membership activities, AAAS publishes the journal Science, as well as many scientific newsletters, books and reports, and spearheads programs that raise the bar of understanding for science worldwide.
The National School Boards Association (NSBA) is a not-for-profit federation of state associations of school boards across the United States. Its mission is to foster excellence and equity in public education through school board leadership. NSBA achieves that mission by representing the school board perspective before federal government agencies and with national organizations that affect education, and by providing vital information and services to state associations of school boards and local school boards throughout the nation.
The Kansas Association of School Boards is a not-for-profit association of local school boards incorporated under Kansas law. The purpose of the association is to provide a cooperative framework to educate each and every child to his of her potential by assisting local school boards in their mission. 294 of the 296 unified school districts in Kansas are members of the association.
The Missouri School Boards' Association (MSBA) is a private, not-for-profit Missouri corporation dedicated to helping school boards succeed. With its headquarters in Columbia and Governmental Relations Offices and a Communication Center in Jefferson City, MSBA advocates for the perspective of locally elected school boards who are charged with shaping the educational programs of their communities' public schools.
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City is a private, nonpartisan foundation that works with partners to advance entrepreneurship in America and improve the education of children and youth. The Kauffman Foundation was established in the mid-1960s by the late entrepreneur and philanthropist Ewing Kauffman. Information about the Kauffman Foundation is available at www.kauffman.org.
