AAAS Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion

This project, which assessed the medical significance of and the ethical, religious, and policy issues related to stem cell research, was supported by the Institute for Civil Society and conducted in collaboration with the AAAS Program on Scientific Freedom, Responsibility and Law (1999-2000). The working group for the project included researchers, ethicists, and representatives of religious communities. The final report of the project was presented in an August 1999 public forum and an April 2000 congressional briefing.
