In collaboration with the AAAS Program on Scientific Freedom, Responsibility, and Law, and with the financial support of the Greenwall Foundation, DoSER engaged in a two-and-a-half-year project to assess the scientific, ethical, religious, and policy issues associated with interventions in the human germ line. The working group that was convened to carry out the study was comprised of scientists, ethicists, theologians, and policy analysts. The outcome of this work was a substantial report including recommendations entitled, "Human Inheritable Genetic Modifications Assessing Scientific, Ethical, Religious, and Policy Issues."
