A. Karim Ahmed, Ph.D., is the Director of the International Program
at the National Council for Science and the Environment and the President
of the Global Children's Health and Environment Fund, both non-governmental
organizations based in Washington, DC. Previously, he was Senior Fellow
and Deputy Director at the World Resources Institute's Program on Health,
Environment and Development as well as the Research Director at the Natural
Resources Defense Council in New York City. Currently, Dr. Ahmed serves
as the Program Director of Georgetown University's Center for the Study
of Science and Religion. He has served on a number of high level advisory
committees and technical panels for national governments, international
agencies, and scientific institutions.
