Biography

Dr. Rodney Brooks, Ph.D., is Director of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and Fujitsu Professor of Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also Chairman and Chief Technical Officer of iRobot Corp. He received degrees in pure mathematics from the Flinders University of South Australia and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University (1981). His research is concerned with the engineering of intelligent robots to operate in unstructured environments as well as understanding human intelligence through building humanoid robots.
