Biography
J. Scott Hauger is the former director of AAAS's Research Competitiveness Program, which is an element of the AAAS Science and Policy Programs. Prior to joining AAAS, Dr. Hauger served on the faculty of Virginia Tech, where he initiated an M.S. degree program in Science and Technology Studies at the university's Northern Virginia Center. He continues to serve as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the program, where he teaches graduate courses in science and technology policy, and the history and philosophy of science and technology. Dr. Hauger holds a B.S. and M.A. in chemistry from Stetson and Johns Hopkins Universities, an M.A. in history from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in science and technology studies from Virginia Tech.
