Eric Turkheimer, Ph.D., is Associate Professor in the Department
of Psychology at the University of Virginia at Charlottesville. His research
focuses on research methods in clinical psychology; the genetic and environmental
pathways to development in families (e.g., why children raised in the
same family are so different?); measurement of psychopathology, especially
personality disorders; and how people describe their own personality vs.
how they are seen by others. His publications include "Three laws
of behavior genetics and what they mean" (Current Directions in Psychological
Science, 9, 160-164, 2000) and "Heritability and biological explanation"
(Psychological Review, 105, 782-791, 1998).
