Biography

J. Wentzel Vrede van Huyssteen, D.Th., joined the Princeton Theological Seminary faculty in 1992 as the first James I. McCord Professor of Theology and Science. A native of South Africa, Dr. van Huyssteen's field is interdisciplinary and philosophical theology, where he specializes in the dialogue between theology and science. His current research is focusing on evolutionary epistemology and the study of Neolithic artifacts. He is the author of Duet or Duel: Theology and Science in a Postmodern World (Trinity Press International, 1998) and The Shaping of Rationality: Toward Interdisciplinarity in Theology and Science (Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing, 1999).
