On April 14-16, 1999, the American Association for the Advancement of Science held the Cosmic Questions conference to consider three questions that have emerged from recent astronomical findings and developments in theoretical comsology:

  • Did the universe have a beginning?
  • Is the universe designed?
  • Are we alone?

This web site provides information about the conference and its speakers. This site will continue to grow as resources from the conference become available.

Cosmic Cuestions was organized by the AAAS Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion.

Cosmic Questions was made possible by support from the John Templeton Foundation, the Smithsonian Institution, the North American Montessori Teachers Association, Science & Spirit Magazine, and individual donors.
