Speakers:

Dr. Tsapogas and Dr. Russell presented a brief 10 minute summary on funding for S&T policy students available from NSF/AIR.

AIR with the support from NCES and NSF has developed a program titled "Improving Institutional Research in Postsecondary Educational Institutions." The goals of this program are to provide professional development opportunities to doctoral students, institutional researchers, educators and administrators, and to foster the use of federal databases for institutional research in postsecondary education. The program has four major components:

a) dissertation research grants for doctoral students including the Charles I. Brown Fellowship Award for the outstanding dissertation proposal;

b) research grants for practitioners and faculty;

c) a senior fellowship program, and

d) a Summer Data Policy Institute in the Washington DC area to study the national databases of NSF and NCES.
