Barriers

Leadership in the private sector is weak - raising money in the private sector is very difficult.

We do not fully utilize our congressional strength.

Fragmentation of efforts has led to a lack of sufficient communication between industry, academia, and government.

University clusters of expertise are not always related to the key markets

As yet, there is no simply articulated and accepted set of goals MTI as yet has no signature or clearly understood posture with the public and legislature.
