The AAAS
EPSCoR Project is an effort to bring to bear the resources
of the American Association for the Advancement of
Science (AAAS) to improve the research capabilities of institutions and researchers
in EPSCoR states. Initially funded with a major grant from the
U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the project
has over four years of service to EPSCoR states.
During the year 2000, the program transitioned
to the Research
Competitiveness Service which is funded by its clients, including individual state
EPSCoR programs.
The AAAS
assists EPSCoR program participants by conducting
leadership development
conferences, examining the area of "research
competitiveness" through policy
studies, and providing direct
assistance consulting to individual institutions
and researchers.
