Collaboration Topic: Investigation Database

People Interested: Kathy Benson, John Hawley, Joel Tohline, Paul Wiita

Notes from the Worksheet:

The projected outcome: a useful cache of information related to computational astrophysics.

The Idea: to provide a readily accessible database which will:

All researchers in a project should be listed by the PI. This will help students gain visibility.

This should be supported by the national centers as part of their already recognized need to document and publicize the research carried out using their facilities.

Challenges: We need to identify the information required. The method has to be painless for the PI's (perhaps all it takes is links to the PI home page? or the project abstract?). As well, this requires the commitment of both centers and a large community of PI's. Keeping the information up-to-date may be a chore. There may be Web security issues.

Actions: We can kick off the procedure by providing first information and helping develop what constitutes useful information. John Hawley will query the centers regarding the feasibility of the project.
