Mark Milutinovich
Senior Program Associate, Research Competitiveness Program

Mark Milutinovich is a Senior Program Associate with the Research Competitiveness Service, a subdivision of AAAS that provides review, evaluation, and guidance to the science and engineering community on the development of quality research programs.

Mark is originally from Ladysmith, Wisconsin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Under the direction of Doug Koshland, Mark obtained a Ph.D. in biology from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. His thesis focused on understanding the role of SMC proteins in sister chromatid cohesion, a process vital to cell division. Prior to joining AAAS, Mark spent time as an intern with the House of Representatives Committee on Science in Washington, DC.
