Program Associate, Research Competitiveness Program
As a Program Associate in the Research Competitiveness Program, Tim works on a diverse portfolio of science and technology based development projects. These projects frequently involve managing peer-review processes for grant competitions and other research and development activities. Projects are often associated with the regional and national development plans of various governments and institutions both domestic and international.
Tim holds a B.A. in economics from Kansas University, an M.S. in economics Oregon University, an M.S. in systems science from Portland State University, and a graduate certificate in computer modeling and simulation which he also received from Portland State University. In addition to his formal education, he has worked as a research assistant with the National Policy Consensus Center at Portland State University, served as a Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Fellow with the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies in Washington, D.C, served twice as an Oregon Fellow with state and local government agencies in Oregon, and held a position as a term assistant professor of economics at the University of Alaska Southeast located in Juneau, Alaska. He has presented his research at international conferences, and published papers in the field of computational economics.
