• The FY 2003 appropriations process is now complete. Congress approved the FY 2003 omnibus appropriations bill last week (2/13), bundling together the 11 unfinished FY 2003 appropriations bills. President Bush signed the bill into law on Feb. 20. President Bush has already sent his FY 2004 proposal to Capitol Hill. Click here for information on R&D in the FY 2004 budget.
• The FY 2003 omnibus appropriations bill contains a 0.65 percent across-the-board cut for nearly all domestic programs. The AAAS analysis of R&D in final FY 2003 appropriations is now available on this site. Final funding tables for FY 2003 R&D are also available.
• The table below shows progress on the 13 appropriations bills through which all discretionary programs are funded. 9 of the 13 bills contain R&D.
