A comprehensive report on R&D
in the federal budget
Our annual report on R&D in the federal budget is now available on line.
The full text of the 272-page report, including nearly 40 tables, is
available. This reference work provides a comprehensive analysis of
R&D in the President's proposed budget for FY 2000, including specialized
analyses by theme, major agency, and discipline. A 16-page summary containing
highlights from this book is available as a Preview Report for AAAS
Report XXIV (see below). For more information on R&D in the FY 2000

Report XIV: R&D FY 2000 (see above). It is a comprehensive overview
of R&D in the FY 2000 budget, the budgetary context for R&D, recent funding
trends in R&D, outyear projections for federal support of R&D to FY 2004,
and industry support of R&D. This document supersedes a previous preliminary
analysis of R&D (Feb. 4). Please see below for detailed funding tables,
