This report is a summary of AAAS estimates and analyses of final FY 2002 appropriations for federal R&D. This report includes highlights of federal R&D in FY 2002 and the final R&D budgets of the major R&D funding agencies. It is a preview of the publication Congressional Action on Research and Development in the FY 2002 Budget. Congressional Action on Research and Development
in the FY 2002 Budget

Our annual report on final FY 2002 appropriations for R&D in the federal budget is now available on line (the printed book will be available in mid-January). The full text of the 80-page report, including 17 tables, is available (in PDF; the HTML version will be available shortly). This publication provides a wrap-up analysis of R&D in the President's budget for FY 2002, including major funding trends, a recap of the congressional budget process, and details on the FY 2002 budgets of the major R&D funding agencies.
