1
The Office of AIDS Research (OAR) provides pass-through funding to the other
institutes for AIDS research. Congress in FY 1999 allocated OAR funds directly
to the institutes. The FY 2000 request consolidated all AIDS research funded
by the institutes under the OAR line. The House bill would allocate AIDS research
funds directly to the institutes. The FY 2000 request figures distribute the
OAR request among the institutes for comparability.
2 FY 2000 figures include
$40 million in advance appropriations.
3 New center created in FY 1999.
