NEUROSCIENCE AND THE LAW

2003 Invitational Workshop

Lawyers, judges, legal scholars, philosophers, psychologists, psychiatrists, and neuroscientists gathered in September 2003 to discuss the emerging relationship between neuroscience and law.  The invitational workshop added to the larger public discourse by distinguishing main concerns and future aims.  Topics included monitoring and imaging the brain, brain modification, and what advances in neuroscience might mean for the legal system. Two publications were generated as result of the workshop, Neuroscience and the Law: Brain, Mind, and the Scales of Justice, Summary Report; and a book entitled, Neuroscience and the Law: Brain, Mind, and the Scales of Justice.  For more details on these and the entire workshop, please click on the links below.
