Inventor Steven Sasson reveals the creative process and engineering technology that went into inventing the digital camera. He offers insights on the mind of an inventor and shares his enjoyment of—and techniques for—taking digital photographs.
"Photographers are fundamentally storytellers," he says. "Maybe I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time to be able to provide the storyteller with a new pen or something."
Sasson is among inventors in the first class of the AAAS-Lemelson Invention Ambassadors.
Take a tour of the National Gallery of Art with Sasson as he talks about his contribution to photography and his take on what digital photos mean to us.
