Environmental sciences/Pollution/Water pollution

In contrast to the complex network of piping, sewers and other collection systems known as gray stormwater infrastructure, green stormwater infrastructure treats precipitation at its source.

Increases in precipitation will only increase the risks and costs associated with stormwater management. Green infrastructure is a method of stormwater management to divert and reduce runoff, often by replacing impervious surfaces with natural soils and vegetation to help to prevent flooding and pollution.
