The Senate Appropriations Committee approved their FY 2016 Homeland Security funding bill with only limited reductions from the request.

The House Appropriations Committee showed restraint across most technology accounts at the Department of Transportation, though aviation technology would get a boost.
Senate funding for DHS S&T is below current House levels, though both would fully fund completion of a new biodefense facillity.
Most research programs would end up close to the Senate numbers and 2012 levels, but funding remains low by historical standards.
