Challenges facing science impact public support, and the scientific community must work to maintain societal relevance, said AAAS S&T Policy Forum.
The upcoming “Science is Everything” series of public talks, April 26-28 in Lexington, Kentucky, promises more than the average science café. Sylvie Garneau-Tsodikova and the festival planning committee are organizing the event during the Keeneland horse races, when many people frequent the local bars, breweries, and other public venues where the talks will be held.
More than 80 AAAS volunteers deployed jelly beans, Braille lettering and auditory illusions to creatively demonstrate the science of the five senses to thousands of curious participants at the 5th USA Science & Engineering Festival in Washington, D.C.
